The energy of Almodovar.
The risk-taking of Amenabar.
The unadulterated exhilaration of Buñuel.
The Ottawa Film Society is very proud to promote, together with Library and Archives Canada and the Canadian Film Institute, the 3rd edition of the Festival of New Spanish Cinema. Organized by the Embassy of Spain in Ottawa and PRAGDA (www.pragda.com), the Ottawa event kicks off the festival's North American tour which travels subsequently to ten cities in the USA. This year’s selection is the biggest and riskiest yet, unveiling the next generation of Spanish film legends. Featuring first-time filmmakers and established masters alike, the very best in contemporary Spanish cinema comes to Ottawa.
Join us for award-winning comedies, romances and dramatic masterpieces, and the special unveiling of a horror classic. The screenings take place in the Auditorium of Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington St., on September 1-4, 2011.
More information about the program is available at http://www.pragda.com/media.php. Please also check the CFI site at www.cfi-icf.ca later this summer.
We hope that you will enjoy the film selection put together by our Spanish friends!
